This site is run by Daniel, a Canadian technical consultant living in Japan with his family. He orders supplements, coffee and household goods from abroad, has paid the customs bill at the door more than once, and reads the Japanese customs and MHLW pages so you do not have to.
Nothing here is medical advice; nothing here is legal advice. Rules are quoted from official sources with the date they were checked, and they change.
How the numbers work
- The calculator uses the personal-use rule (customs values a parcel at 60 percent of the price) and the simplified tariff. It is an estimate; the carrier assesses the real charge.
- The rule checker summarises common personal-import limits and links the official page for each.
- Every figure shows a last-verified date.
Affiliate disclosure
This site uses affiliate links (iHerb, Amazon, Vitacost, Etsy). If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change the estimates or the rules, and products appear only as examples of how the import rules work. We never make health claims about any supplement, medicine or cosmetic.
